A practical course for all support workers assisting an individual to take medication already obtained for them e.g. by prescription.
This course has been designed to meet CQC standards, NICE guidance and current legislation relating to the handling of medication including; Medicines Act 1964, Health Act 2006, Mental Capacity Act 2006 and incorporating relevant aspects of Care Act 2014.
This is an interactive learner-centred session which requires participants to demonstrate practical skills, participate in open discussions and group case studies and to complete a workbook. Each participant will also be required to complete a self-reflection identifying any further training needs which can be reviewed by manager’s to assist with professional development.
- Obtaining, storing, monitoring and disposing of medication
- Administration of medication (tablets/capsules; liquids; eye/ear drops; creams and lotions)

This course is delivered in-house for a flat charge of £395 for up to twenty delegates attending. All certificates and materials are included. No VAT is charged.
